Outright Games Reduces Workforce by 27 Employees

UK-based video game publisher Outright Games has announced that it will be undergoing a restructuring process, resulting in the elimination of 27 positions across its UK and Spanish offices. According to the company, this decision is intended to guarantee that it remains aligned with the current state of the market. The affected departments include marketing, production, creative, quality assurance, and OG Labs. Outright Games is known for publishing licensed titles for children, such as Barbie, Chicken Run, the NBA, and Paw Patrol. In a statement, a company spokesperson expressed that the decision to initiate the redundancy process was made after careful consideration and a review of possible alternatives. The spokesperson emphasized that the company is committed to providing support to the affected colleagues during this transition period. The goal of these changes is to ensure that Outright Games is structured for future success and continues to deliver high-quality family entertainment. This news comes just four months after the company's subsidiary, Aheartfulofgames, announced that it would be making 28 employees redundant. Additionally, Outright Games recently became part of a new holding company called Roundtable Interactive Group, which also includes UK studio Auroch Digital, US publisher GameMill Entertainment, and multiplayer tech firm Coherence. The latest layoffs are part of a larger trend of redundancies and challenges faced by the gaming industry in recent years, with several notable companies, including Avalanche, Redhill Games, Crystal Dynamics, and Sharkmob, having announced similar restructuring efforts.
