Arc Games Regains Independence as a Publisher
Arc Games has embarked on a new journey as an independent game publisher. Having been a part of Embracer Group, the studio has successfully completed a management buyout backed by XD Inc., enabling it to pursue its mission of developing and publishing high-quality, innovative games for a global audience. Moving forward, Arc Games will retain its current organizational structure, with Yoon Im continuing to lead as CEO, alongside the existing team. With its independence now secured, the company is accelerating plans for an array of unannounced titles, new publishing partnerships, and ongoing support for its existing portfolio. According to Yoon Im, CEO of Arc Games, "This new chapter marks a significant milestone for our company. We are grateful for our time under Embracer Group and the achievements made since our inception over 15 years ago. These experiences have been instrumental in shaping our identity. As an independent publisher, we can now fully pursue our vision, collaborating with talented developers worldwide and introducing exceptional games to the market. With a robust lineup of projects, 2026 promises to be one of the most ambitious and innovative years in our history, and we look forward to the future." The divestment of Arc Games, along with Cryptic Studios, was announced by Embracer last week. As a publisher of live service games, Arc Games is known for titles such as Star Trek Online, Neverwinter, and the Remnant series, as well as Torchlight and Hyper Light Breaker.
