Xbox Sees 45% Increase in Cloud Gaming Hours, Expanding Accessibility
According to Phil Spencer, Microsoft's Gaming CEO, Xbox Game Pass has witnessed significant growth in cloud gaming hours. In a LinkedIn post, Spencer stated that the company is working towards creating a more accessible gaming environment. He revealed that Game Pass cloud hours have increased by 45% year-over-year, with console players showing a 45% rise in streaming on consoles and a 24% increase on other devices. Spencer emphasized the importance of providing players with more choices, enabling them to play their preferred games on any device. The Xbox team, partners, and players have contributed to realizing this vision. Additionally, Xbox Cloud Gaming has expanded its reach to India, Argentina, and Brazil, offering more playback options on various devices. This development follows the price adjustment of Xbox Game Pass in October, which introduced new features such as Fortnite Crew and Ubisoft+ Classics, enhanced cloud gaming quality, and access to over 75 day-one releases annually.
