Seasoned Ubisoft Developer Launches Quality Time Studio
Veteran game developer Johannes Thimme, formerly of Ubisoft, has established Quality Time Studio, a cutting-edge game development company based in Lower Saxony, Germany. The studio is currently hard at work on a groundbreaking original game prototype, while also offering a suite of consulting services tailored to support up-and-coming game developers and independent studios. These services encompass a broad range of expertise, including product vision development, publishing strategy, investor relations, production process optimization, and business structure planning, as well as facilitating international collaborations. Thimme's vision for Quality Time Studio extends beyond the company itself, as he aims to contribute to the growth and development of the gaming industry in the Lower Saxony region. "Many experienced developers I've spoken to have expressed a desire to relocate outside of major cities, and I believe this presents a unique opportunity for our region," Thimme noted. "While the gaming industry is not yet as well-established in Lower Saxony as it is in other parts of Germany, I am excited about the prospect of helping to build a thriving creative hub here, one that will attract both seasoned developers and new talent alike." With over 20 years of experience in the gaming industry, Thimme brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new venture, having spent 13 years at Ubisoft in a variety of key roles, including lead producer, co-dev director, and site director of online services. During his tenure at Ubisoft, Thimme worked on several high-profile franchises, including Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Star Wars, Avatar, and Rainbow Six. He was also instrumental in establishing Ubisoft's co-development division in Germany and oversaw the German online services team responsible for developing Ubisoft Connect.
