Halo Infinite Set to Receive Final Major Update
Halo Studios has revealed that the final major update for Halo Infinite is slated for release this month. In a recent blog post, the studio confirmed that it will be redirecting its attention to several Halo titles currently in development, with Operation: Infinite marking the last major update planned for the game. The studio emphasized its commitment to providing players with engaging challenges, ranked rewards, and community events throughout the next year and beyond. As the team transitions to focus on projects like Halo: Campaign Evolved, they expressed gratitude to the Halo Infinite community for their unwavering support over the years. The new challenges, rewards, and events will commence with the launch of Operation: Infinite on November 18, 2025. In a past interview, former Halo Infinite studio head Chris Lee envisioned Halo Infinite as the foundation for the franchise's future, aligning with Microsoft's 10-year plan. The goal was to have Infinite evolve over time, rather than adopting the traditional numbered title approach. Initially announced in 2018 as a console exclusive for Xbox Series X, Halo Infinite faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors, ultimately releasing on December 8, 2021.
