GTA 6 Release Pushed to November 19, 2026, for Further Refining

In a move to ensure the highest quality, Take Two Interactive has postponed the release of GTA 6 for the second time, rescheduling it to November 19, 2026. This decision was announced in the company's financial report, stating that the delay will provide the development team with extra time to complete the game to the standard that players anticipate and deserve. Rockstar has the full backing of Take Two, and there is confidence that the final product will be an unparalleled entertainment experience. In a conversation with GamesIndustry.biz, Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, did not rule out the possibility of further delays but expressed confidence in the newly set date. Zelnick emphasized the commitment to delivering an extraordinary interactive experience, aligning with Rockstar's vision. He noted that sometimes more time is necessary to perfect a title before its release. This delay follows the initial announcement in December 2023 for a 2025 release and a subsequent delay to May 26, 2026. Assuming the new date holds, GTA 6 will be released 13 years after its predecessor, which launched in September 2013. The shift may force other developers and publishers to adjust their release strategies, particularly in the significant Q4 period. An interview with Zelnick, covering the delay and other financial results, will be published soon.
