Atomhawk Closes Canadian Operations
A prominent digital art and design studio, Atomhawk, known for its work on various games including Madden 26 since its inception in 2009, has ceased operations at its Canadian office. In a LinkedIn post, the leadership expressed their sadness over the decision, stating that they are providing support to all affected individuals. The statement acknowledged the impact on a small but exceptionally talented team of artists, creatives, and friends who have produced outstanding work for clients on several notable titles and driven multiple R&D initiatives over the past eight years. The team expressed gratitude to the Canadian staff for their enthusiasm, commitment, and innovative ideas. Although the Canadian office is closing, Atomhawk will continue to operate from the UK, building upon its legacy as a creative innovation partner for the gaming industry. This development follows the studio's acquisition by UK-based Sumo Digital in 2017, which was later acquired by Tencent in 2021 as part of a $1.27 billion deal to purchase Sumo Group.
