Don't Nod Sees Revenue Surge to €7m, Unveils Netflix Partnership

French game developer Don't Nod has announced a significant increase in revenue, with earnings rising to €7 million in the first half of 2025, up from €1.8 million in the same period last year. This growth is attributed to the successful integration of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage into the PlayStation Plus lineup. However, the game's performance fell short of expectations, resulting in a write-down of €13.1 million. Despite this, Don't Nod reported a 5% decline in operating revenue to €13.9 million, citing a decrease in capitalized production costs. The company highlighted the completion of Bloom & Rage and the suspension of two projects, P12 and P13, as key factors contributing to this decline. Following a reorganization project announced last October, Don't Nod has completed the restructuring of its Paris studio, achieving estimated operational savings of €5 million for the 2025 financial year. The company has also implemented layoffs at its Montreal studio, resulting in an estimated full-year cost reduction of €1.1 million. Looking ahead, Don't Nod is focused on developing its new IP, Aphelion, and has announced a partnership with Netflix to create a narrative-driven video game based on a major IP. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the company, solidifying its position as a specialist in storytelling and its ambition to explore new formats, including cloud gaming. According to Don't Nod CEO Oskar Guilbert, the first half of the year has been characterized by solid revenue growth and the initial effects of the company's performance plan, with full benefits expected to materialize in the second half of the year.
