Games London Introduces Accelerator Program to Boost UK Studios' Original Content
Submissions are now being accepted for the London Games Festival's Games London Accelerator 2026, a program focused on empowering UK game studios to unlock their full potential by developing unique and compelling IP. Scheduled to take place from January to March 2026, this intensive two-month program will offer a combination of virtual and in-person sessions, led by industry experts Christian Fonnesbech and Jennifer Schneidereit. These sessions are tailored to provide participating studios with the necessary tools and insights to successfully develop their IP while simultaneously expanding their business. The five selected UK-based studios will also receive complimentary access to the Games Finance Market, held on April 14 and 15, as well as a free showcase space at New Game Plus, taking place on April 16 and 17, as part of the London Games Festival. According to Michael French, head of Games London, "Our inaugural Games London Pitch Bootcamp in 2017 marked the beginning of a long-term initiative to foster talent growth within the UK and London's gaming sector, eventually giving rise to the Games London Accelerator and Game Changer programs." French noted that while similar programs have emerged across the nation, Games London's new accelerator is specifically designed to address the pressing challenge of creating high-quality, globally competitive IP – a crucial step forward for the UK's gaming industry. Interested applicants are required to submit their applications by December 8.
