Justin Davis Appointed as VP of Editorial and Commerce at IGN Entertainment

Veteran media executive Justin Davis has been promoted to the newly created position of Vice President, Editorial and Commerce at IGN Entertainment, the parent company of GamesIndustry.biz. Davis previously held the position of VP, Commerce, where he oversaw affiliate content, user subscriptions, and the IGN Store, following a lengthy editorial career that included co-founding IndustryGamers, which was later acquired by GamesIndustry.biz. The new role aims to further integrate the company's editorial, commerce, audience development, and tech editorial teams, facilitating more effective communication and collaboration between them. As part of this restructuring, the company has announced the merger of its previously separate games and entertainment editorial teams to better align with audience engagement and support a more flexible content programming approach, citing the success of its blended editorial events such as IGN Live and IGN at San Diego Comic-Con. A unified editorial team will be led by Senior Editorial Director Rachel Weber, while Senior Editorial Events and Partnerships Director Michael Peyton will head a unified team for editorial events, partnerships, and first looks. Alex Simmons will continue as Senior International Editorial Director, overseeing the former Gamer Network editorial brands, including GamesIndustry.biz, and leading features for IGN Entertainment. Corrado Caretto will remain as VP of Video, Production, and Social for all of IGN Entertainment. Davis expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, 'I'm honored by this opportunity and excited to get started. This is a pivotal time for IGN and all media companies, and I'm confident we have the right people and the right structure to make IGN even more vibrant and successful over the next 30 years as it has been for the last 30. I am deeply committed to fostering an environment where our talented editors can do their best work.' Yael Prough, President of IGN Entertainment, welcomed Davis to his new role, saying, 'I'm delighted to appoint Justin to this new position, which is a key part of delivering our unified vision for IGN Entertainment. Our goal is to ensure our editorial excellence directly fuels our business growth, and unifying our content teams and aligning our objectives at the highest level means that the entire organization is positioned to collaborate on delivering world-class editorial even more effectively.' Prough also announced that the company will be creating a new position, SVP of Content, to lead the newly combined group, with recruitment set to begin later this year.
