Krafton Embarks on Comprehensive Restructuring to Become an AI-Driven Entity

Krafton, the notable publisher behind Subnautica 2 and PUBG, is undergoing a significant transformation by embracing an AI-first approach. The company aims to harness AI as its primary problem-solving mechanism, driving organizational change, boosting productivity, and propelling long-term corporate growth. As part of this initiative, Krafton will undergo a thorough reorganization and invest approximately $69.7 million in a state-of-the-art GPU cluster for advanced reasoning and planning. Additionally, $20.8 million will be allocated for employee retraining in AI tool utilization. According to Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han, the company will integrate Agentic AI to automate tasks and implement an AI-centric management system, allowing team members to focus on creative endeavors and complex problem-solving. This strategic shift is designed to foster member growth and expand the company's capabilities through AI. In a related development, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer recently discussed the company's current AI applications, primarily in security and moderation, with no current plans for its use in the creative process.
