Ex-Ridgeline Games GM Expresses Disappointment Over Omitted Battlefield 6 Credits

Marcus Lehto, the co-creator of Halo and former head of Ridgeline Games, expressed his disappointment that many staff members from Ridgeline Games were not given proper credits in the recent release of Battlefield 6. Despite their significant contributions to the game's solo campaign before the studio's closure in 2024, Lehto claims that most of the laid-off staff were relegated to a 'Special Thanks' section or omitted entirely from the credits. Lehto stated, 'I'm disappointed to see that many of my former teammates from Ridgeline Games were not properly credited in the recent release of Battlefield 6.' He acknowledged the hard work and dedication of his former colleagues, who spent 1 to 2.5 years building the game's foundation before he left and the studio was shut down. Lehto took to LinkedIn to recognize and list the names and roles of his former teammates as he would have preferred them to appear in the credits, emphasizing that 'game development is a team effort, and every contributor deserves fair acknowledgment.' In a follow-up statement, Lehto explained that Ridgeline Games was responsible for driving a new narrative foundation, setting, and iconic locations for the campaign missions in collaboration with other EA studios. Although the studio's closure led to the scrapping of some of their developments, Lehto understood the decision. GamesIndustry.biz has reached out to EA for a comment on the matter.
