The Sims Mobile Scheduled for Discontinuation in January 2026

Electronic Arts has confirmed that The Sims Mobile will cease operations on January 20, 2026. As of October 20, the game is no longer available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play. However, players who have already installed the game can continue to access and update it. Any in-game purchases made prior to the delisting will remain valid until the game's sunset date. After The Sims Mobile is discontinued, it will no longer be playable, and any remaining in-game currency will not be refundable, according to the developer. EA expressed gratitude to the community, stating, "The creativity, kindness, and imagination within The Sims Mobile and the broader Sims community have been truly inspiring." The decision to end support for The Sims Mobile was announced earlier this year, with no new content or events planned. The game was initially developed by Maxis in 2018, with subsequent development handled by Firemonkeys Studios from 2019 to 2020, and then Slingshot Studio from 2020 onwards. Firemonkeys Studio is also responsible for developing The Sims FreePlay, a freemium mobile version of The Sims.
