Sony's Ghost of Yōtei Makes Historic Debut as Top First-Party Title in Europe
According to recent data from GSD, Ghost of Yōtei has achieved the largest first-party launch for PlayStation in Europe since the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The game debuted at number two on the European unit sales and revenue charts for the week ending October 5, 2025, as reported by The Game Business. Notably, the sales of Ghost of Yōtei were comparable to its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, in terms of both digital and physical sales. The latest title from Sucker Punch Productions, launched on October 2, received critical acclaim for its captivating storyline and setting. In contrast, EA Sports FC 26 maintained its top position for three weeks but experienced a 62% decline in sales week-over-week. The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 double pack for the Nintendo Switch secured the third position. Based on physical sales data, it is estimated that this collection sold around a quarter of what the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection achieved in 2020. The rest of the top ten unit sales were dominated by games featured in the Steam Autumn Sale, including Doom Eternal and Far Cry Primal, which pushed newer releases like Silent Hill F and Sonic Racing CrossWorlds down to the top 20. However, Silent Hill F broke into the top ten for revenue sales. The top ten games by unit sales and revenue in Europe for the week ending October 5 are listed below. Please note that digital data is currently unavailable. The sales data encompasses physical and digital game sales across various regions, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, and others.
