Game Republic Unveils Nominees for 2025 Industry Awards
Game Republic has announced the nominees for its 2025 Industry Awards, featuring over 100 nominations across 12 categories that recognize outstanding achievements in game development, studios, and individuals. A notable addition this year is the Martyn Brown Rising Star Award, established to honor the legacy of the Team17 and Game Republic co-founder who passed away in December last year. The awards will be judged by a panel consisting of Game Republic, its sponsors, and lead judge Keith Stuart from The Guardian. The Best Indie Game in The North category will be determined by a public vote. The winners will be announced on November 13 at WX Wakefield as part of GaMaYo, an event that is expected to draw over 400 developers. According to Game Republic managing director Jamie Sefton, "The increasing number of nominations we receive each year is a testament to the exceptional work being done across The North." Sefton added, "This is a fantastic opportunity to spotlight this work, celebrate success, and recognize inspiring individuals and games produced in the region." The full list of nominees for the Game Republic Awards 2025 includes: Best Indie Game Made in the North, sponsored by Xsolla, with nominees such as Rules and Rodents by Gravy Crew, Empyreal by Silent Games, and Retro Slam Tennis by New Star Games.
