MCM London Comic-Con Unveils Investment Summit Schedule and Industry Networking Event

The MCM London Comic-Con has finalized the lineup for its Investment Summit, now part of the EGX gaming event. Organizer ReedPop has also announced an industry networking reception to follow the event, taking place on October 24th, with a notable roster of current and former GI.biz staff. The Investment Summit, produced in collaboration with Game Republic, is a series of panels focused on helping developers and publishers secure funding. Lewis Packwood from GI.biz will lead a panel discussion on the current state of game funding, featuring guests such as Simon Byron from Yogscast Games, Meg Clark from Team 17, and Lirui Ding from Transcend Fund. The event also includes an on-stage interview with former Microsoft and EA Sports executive Peter Moore, hosted by Christopher Dring, head of The Game Business and GI.biz veteran. Other highlights include a presentation by Digital Banditos, delivered by former GI.biz EIC James Batchelor, as well as pitching advice from Secret Mode's James Schall and guidance on applying to angel investors and the UK Research Innovation Fund. The full schedule of sessions and speakers is available below. Attendance at the Investment Summit requires an Industry pass, which can be obtained for free on the MCM website. A separate ticket is required for the industry networking reception, which can be applied for online. The event schedule includes a keynote interview with Peter Moore, a presentation on UKRI funding for game developers, a fireside chat with angel investor Bibbi Wikman, and a wide-ranging discussion on the current games funding landscape. The event concludes with an industry mixer, running from 5 pm to 7 pm.
