Megabonk Achieves Massive Success with Over a Million Copies Sold on Steam

The developer of Megabonk, Vedinad, has revealed that the game has surpassed one million sales on Steam, indicating a continued interest in rogue-like survival games inspired by Vampire Survivors. The milestone was announced by Vedinad on social media, stating that it was reached in just two weeks. Data from Video Game Insights (VGI) estimates that Megabonk has sold approximately 1.3 million units and has reached a peak player count of over 117,000 on Steam. Megabonk utilizes low-polygon graphics to create a 3D version of the popular 2D game Vampire Survivors, with a unique character roster that includes a sunglasses-wearing skeleton on a skateboard. The game is not the first to capitalize on the success of Vampire Survivors, as other titles like Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor and Soulstone Survivors have also achieved significant sales and player bases. According to VGI, around 62.5% of Megabonk players also own Vampire Survivors, with notable crossovers with games like Warframe and Risk of Rain 2. Currently, Megabonk is ranked fifth in the Steam top seller charts, with a "very positive" rating based on over 19,000 reviews. Megabonk is one of several games that have experienced sudden success on Steam this year, including Schedule I and Peak, which have also achieved impressive sales figures.
