Nintendo of America Announces Leadership Transition as Doug Bowser Retires
In a significant move, Nintendo has revealed that its current president and COO, Doug Bowser, will be retiring, paving the way for Devon Pritchard to assume the role of president. Satoru Shibata, who has been serving as managing executive officer and corporate director, will take on the additional responsibility of CEO. This transition is set to occur on December 31, 2025. Bowser, who joined Nintendo in 2015, expressed his pride in the team's accomplishments during his tenure and expressed confidence in Pritchard's ability to lead the company to greater heights. Pritchard, who will make history as Nintendo's first female president, has been with the company since 2006 and has previously held the position of executive vice president of business affairs and publisher relations. She will also join the Nintendo of America board of directors and become an executive officer at the Japanese firm. Pritchard has stated that her focus will be on building upon Nintendo's legacy while welcoming new players to the Nintendo family.
