Starbreeze Concedes Mistake Over Unannounced DLC Price Increase

Starbreeze has acknowledged a mistake in its handling of a recent price increase for the Infamous Collection DLC bundle for Payday 2, which coincided with the launch of a premium DLC subscription service. The company introduced the subscription service as part of the game's 12th anniversary, offering access to all downloadable content for a monthly fee of $4.99 or a six-month subscription for $19.99. However, the simultaneous 50% price hike for the DLC bundle from $100 to $150 was not announced, prompting a strong reaction from the game's community. In response, Gustav Misser, head of commercial, stated that the company failed to coordinate internally and communicate effectively with its community, leading to a reversal of the price change. The company has since reinstated the original price of the bundle, acknowledging that the timing and lack of communication were misguided.
