ProbablyMonsters Terminates Employee Over Social Media Policy Breach Regarding Charlie Kirk
ProbablyMonsters, the studio behind Storm Lancers, has become the latest game developer to let go of an employee due to comments made on social media regarding the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. In a statement published on September 22, 2025, the company confirmed the termination, citing the employee's remarks as offensive and in violation of their social media guidelines. The studio emphasized that respect is a fundamental value and such behavior will not be tolerated. This move follows similar actions by other game studios, including Sucker Punch Productions and Void Interactive, which have also taken disciplinary measures against employees for their comments about Charlie Kirk's assassination. Microsoft is reviewing the views expressed by some of its employees, and other companies like Square Enix, Warhammer/Games Workshop, and Bethesda are facing social media backlash over employee comments. When contacted, a ProbablyMonsters spokesperson stated there was nothing to add to the previously released statement.
