Helldivers 2 Secures Fourth Place in August 2025 Revenue Rankings Following Xbox Launch

The Xbox release of Helldivers 2 resulted in a significant revenue boost, positioning it fourth in the overall revenue rankings for August, as reported by Newzoo. The game's launch on August 26, which included a crossover with Halo, also led to increased engagement, placing it 13th in the overall player engagement chart and 11th on Xbox's individual chart. Meanwhile, Battlefield 6 debuted at number three on the engagement chart, despite only being available for eight days during its early access and open beta periods. This limited release drew over 520,000 players on Steam, making it the most played game in the series. Newzoo views these figures as a positive indicator ahead of the game's full release on October 10. Additionally, Battlefield 2042 experienced a sharp increase in player engagement following the Battlefield 6 beta, attributed to a content update and discount, resulting in its highest monthly active user count since its launch in 2021. Other notable releases include 2K's Mafia: The Old Country, which ranked sixth in overall revenue, with two-thirds of its sales coming from PlayStation, and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which entered the Top 20 despite its late-month launch.
