Roblox Unveils Innovative Updates at 2025 Developer Conference, Including 8.5% Revenue Boost for Creators

Roblox has introduced a range of groundbreaking updates, including advancements in AI and creator monetization, with creators earning over $1 billion through the DevEx program in the past year. At the recent Roblox Developers Conference, the company outlined several new initiatives, including an 8.5% increase in the Roblox Developer Exchange (DevEx) rate for all creators, resulting in 100,000 earned Robux being equivalent to $380 when converted to cash, up from $350. Creators will also have access to assets from notable brands like Mattel, Kodanasha, and Lionsgate, which have joined the company's IP licensing program, introducing brands such as Matchbox, Polly Pocket, and Blair Witch to the Roblox ecosystem. Building on its Generative 3D creation tools, Roblox has unveiled its new generation of fully functional 4D objects with AI, as well as new language tools, including text-to-speech and speech-to-text APIs, and real-time voice translation technology. The company has also introduced Roblox Moments, a new feature allowing users to discover experiences through short-form video clips of exciting gameplay moments, and creators to reach new audiences. Users can capture, edit, and share clips of their gameplay, which others can click to instantly try out the experience themselves. Soon, Moments APIs will be released to help creators grow their audience and drive stronger engagement. These updates aim to achieve the company's broader goal of having 10% of all gaming content revenue flow through the Roblox ecosystem and be distributed among its community of creators. To achieve this, Roblox is investing in every stage of the creator development cycle, from creation to monetization, with these new releases designed to help creators bring compelling content to life, scale their audience, increase their earning potential, and build successful businesses.
