Team Cherry Addresses Concerns Over Hollow Knight: Silksong's Chinese Translation

Team Cherry has announced plans to refine the simplified Chinese translation of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Despite the game's overall positive reception on Steam, with a Mostly Positive score, a significant number of Chinese players have expressed dissatisfaction with the localization, citing issues with accuracy and nuance. In a statement on X/Twitter, Team Cherry's Matthew Griffin expressed gratitude for the feedback and assured players that improvements to the translation would be made over the coming weeks. Griffin stated, "To our Chinese-speaking fans, we appreciate your feedback regarding the quality issues with the current Simplified Chinese translation of Hollow Knight: Silksong. We will be working to improve the translation over the coming weeks, and we thank you for your feedback and support." Currently, only 38% of reviews for the simplified Chinese version are positive, although the game as a whole holds a Mostly Positive rating. Notably, Hollow Knight: Silksong achieved over half a million concurrent players just a day after its release on September 4, 2025.
