Netflix's Animated Tomb Raider Series to Conclude with Second Season

The animated Tomb Raider series on Netflix is reportedly nearing its conclusion. According to Variety, the upcoming second season of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, set to premiere on December 11, 2025, may be the last. GamesIndustry.biz has contacted Netflix for confirmation. Initially announced in 2021, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft debuted on October 10, 2024, and was quickly renewed for a second season. This animated adaptation is not the only recent interpretation of the video game franchise. Amazon is also developing a live-action Tomb Raider series, starring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, with production scheduled to start on January 19, 2026. The live-action series was given the green light in May 2024, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Chad Hodge, and Jonathan van Tulleken on board as key creatives.
