A16Z Speedrun Announces $1 Million Investment Opportunity for Startups

A16Z Speedrun, a prominent venture capital firm, has initiated the application process for the sixth iteration of its esteemed startup accelerator program. The 12-week initiative, slated to commence in January, offers comprehensive support to fledgling startups, including investments of up to $1 million, expert mentorship, and strategic guidance from renowned industry specialists. The application window closes on September 28, 2025, with the program kicking off on January 26, 2026, and culminating in a Demo Day in April. A16Z principal Josh Lu expressed enthusiasm for the program's success, stating, "The accomplishments of our alumni continue to inspire us, as they push boundaries and redefine possibilities." Lu further emphasized, "As our accelerator expands, the potential for groundbreaking innovation grows, driven by the bold ideas and innovative approaches of each new cohort." Having broadened its scope earlier this year to encompass startups from the technology, entertainment, and gaming sectors, including those specializing in 3D tools, streaming, XR, and next-generation entertainment, A16Z Speedrun has established itself as a pivotal force in the startup ecosystem. Since its inception in 2023, the program has provided funding to over 150 startups, totaling more than $180 million. The fifth program, which took place in July, witnessed the selection of over 60 companies from a pool of 14,000 applicants, marking the largest cohort to date.
