Nintendo Renames Transmedia Division to Nintendo Stars

Nintendo has revamped its transmedia division by changing its name from Warpstar Inc. to Nintendo Stars. Initially launched as a consolidated subsidiary in April, Warpstar managed the company's film, TV, and transmedia business. According to a statement on the official Nintendo Japan website, the rebranding aims to strengthen and expand the use of Nintendo IP in films to encompass live events, merchandise, and other projects through development, licensing, and partnerships. By doing so, Nintendo Stars Inc. seeks to increase global familiarity with Nintendo IP and offer new experiences. The company also plans to build on its expertise in the Kirby franchise and collaborate with worldwide partners to broaden access to Nintendo IP, fostering stronger customer relationships. Additionally, Nintendo reminded investors of the upcoming animated Super Mario Bros. film, set to release on April 3, 2026, and the live-action The Legend of Zelda film, scheduled for May 7, 2027.
