Curveball Leisure Introduces New Full-Service Publishing Arm
Curveball Leisure, a Welsh-based distributor, has announced the launch of Curveball Games, a publishing division dedicated to backing distinctive digital and physical titles from independent to AA studios worldwide. The new publisher, unveiled on September 1, will be led by Ed Gregory, a seasoned publishing manager with a background at PlayStation and PQube. The Curveball Games team has recently expanded to include product marketing manager James Megretton, formerly of Sumo Digital, and community manager Richard Flint, previously at PQube, with plans for further team growth in 2026. Ed Gregory stated, 'The gaming industry has faced significant challenges over the past two years, but we are starting to see signs of recovery. This calls for a new approach, which is where Curveball Games comes in. While passion is essential in this industry, studios require more than that to succeed.' Gregory emphasized that the role of Curveball Games is to support developers, foster creativity, and provide necessary resources, leveraging the team's experience and the backing of the wider Curveball group to uncover the next generation of exceptional talent. Although Curveball Leisure and its retail division, The Game Collection, are headquartered in Swansea, Wales, the publishing arm will operate from Cardiff. Curveball Games has already established partnerships with several developers, including Wales Interactive, Top Hat Studios, Duality Games, Reignite Group, Kevin Toms, and Riddlebit Software, for upcoming physical and digital releases. Andrew Naunton, Curveball's CCO, noted, 'Over the past 20 years, Curveball has evolved from its humble beginnings into one of Wales' success stories, with a strong presence in the physical media market. The launch of Curveball Games marks a new chapter for us, allowing us to expand our reach and bring new energy to our brand.' Naunton added, 'We are combining our proven infrastructure, industry expertise, and passion for great games to empower developers with the resources, transparency, and collaboration they need to thrive. We are committed to building lasting partnerships that elevate creativity and provide everything needed to make both our titles and Curveball Games a success.'
