August 2025 Job Roundup: Supercell Appoints Drussila Hollanda to Head New Games Division
The gaming industry has seen numerous personnel changes recently. To keep track of these developments, we have compiled a list of the latest appointments and transitions. If your company has any new hires or promotions, please send the details to newhires@gamesindustry.biz. Supercell has appointed Drussila Hollanda as head of its new games division, a role that has been in the works for some time. According to Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen, "This role has been a long time coming, but it was a very hard one to fill, because this is not your typical 'head of new games' role which directs the type of games the studio builds." Paananen added that Hollanda's experience and expertise will be invaluable in this position. Hollanda joined Supercell in 2012 as game lead for Hay Day and later founded Hive Helsinki Code School in 2017. She left Supercell in 2020 to co-found Papukaya, a mobile studio based in Helsinki, where she served as CEO. Hollanda stated, "I've been lucky enough to lead and be part of both new and live game teams throughout my career, but my true passion has always been on the new game side. I have firsthand experience in taking big risks and failing. I can nurture the risk-taking culture here at Supercell." Other notable appointments include Marc De Vellis as EVP and president of Spin Master's Digital Games Creative Centre, Yvonne Lukanowski as head of public relations at Astragon Entertainment, and Mark DeLoura as executive director of innovation and growth at the Game Developers Conference. Additionally, Kate Billingham has joined Raw Fury as product manager, Caolan McKendry has joined IndieBI as a game dev consultant, and David Diaz has been appointed CEO of Ray Browser. Furthermore, Coatsink has appointed Richard Snowdon as CEO, Stephen Peacock has joined 2K Games as AI director, and Simon Iwaniszak has joined Sumo Digital as vice president. Starbreeze Entertainment has appointed Paul Keslin as general manager of Project Baxter, Sam Hilary has joined Megabit Publishing as senior brand marketing manager, and Trisha Lee has joined Krafton as an investment analyst. Lastly, Konami has appointed Will Lawes as PR manager for the EMEA regions.
