Gamescom Opening Night Live Highlights: Black Myth: Zhong Kui Steals the Show

The Gamescom Opening Night Live event, hosted by Geoff Keighley, took place in Cologne, Germany, and featured various game trailers and announcements. The pre-show included trailers for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearls of Destruction, Long Gone, Valor Mortis, PVKK, Swords of Legends, and Road Kings, with He-Man receiving a notable cheer from the audience. The event also included announcements for Warhammer Dawn of War IV, Monster Hunter Wilds' crossover with Final Fantasy XIV, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming to Switch 2. Additionally, Age of Empires IV was revealed to be coming to PS5, and new trailers were shown for Cronos: The New Dawn, The Outer Worlds 2, and Ghost of Yotei. The crowd was particularly enthusiastic about new footage from Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 and Resident Evil Requiem. The event concluded with a CGI trailer for Black Myth: Zhong Kui, a sequel to Black Myth: Wukong, which was saved as the final reveal of the night.
