Gamescom Dev: The New Identity of Devcom Developer Conference

The Devcom Developer Conference is set to undergo a name change to Gamescom Dev, effective October 2025. This strategic move aims to further integrate the event into the Gamescom family, bolstering its presence in the global gaming industry. As announced on the conference's Keynote Stage on August 19, 2025, the rebranding is expected to enhance the event's positioning and inclusion among key Gamescom sub-brands. According to Stephan Reichart, managing director of game events GmbH and organizer of the Devcom Developer Conference, the name change is a significant upgrade, providing clarity on the event's role as the official game developer conference of Gamescom. With its establishment in 2017, the conference has grown into a pivotal event for game developers, featuring a wide range of topics including community management, game design, and mental health. This year's conference has also placed a strong emphasis on AI, with speakers expressing mixed attitudes towards the technology. Following the main conference, a Devcom booth will be available in Gamescom's B2B area from August 20 to August 22. The rebranding to Gamescom Dev is anticipated to create greater synergies with other Gamescom formats, unlocking new opportunities and propelling the event's success to new heights.
