Louisiana Files Lawsuit Against Roblox Over Alleged Child Safety Concerns

The state of Louisiana has initiated a lawsuit against Roblox Corporation, alleging that the company's online platform enables the dissemination of child sexual abuse material and facilitates the exploitation of minors. Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced the lawsuit during a press conference, asserting that Roblox prioritizes profits over the safety of children. The lawsuit seeks to hold Roblox accountable for its alleged role in the distribution of child sexual abuse material and the exploitation of minors, and is requesting that the company be prohibited from engaging in activities that violate Louisiana's Unfair Trade Practices Act. The state is also seeking civil penalties, damages, and restitution. Roblox has responded to the allegations, stating that it takes the safety of its users seriously and has implemented numerous parental and safety tools to protect them.
