Introducing Skich: A Novel Android App Store

Skich, an alternative to traditional app stores, has extended its reach to Android devices, following a successful launch on iOS in the European Union. Currently, the Android version is in the process of onboarding developers, with over 100 studios expressing interest in joining. The store offers developers a competitive 15% revenue share. Initially, Skich started as a discovery platform for iOS, driven by the implementation of the Digital Markets Act, and later evolved into a full-fledged mobile store in response to user feedback. According to Skich Store CEO and co-founder Sergey Budkovski, "The current state of game discovery is particularly challenging for mobile games, especially those without substantial advertising budgets." He further emphasized, "By launching on Android, we are providing a viable alternative that allows exceptional games to gain recognition based on their merits, rather than their marketing spend." This development comes on the heels of a significant court ruling, in which the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals chose not to overturn the verdict from the Epic vs Google case, as reported by The Verge, which previously deemed Google Play's billing system an illegal monopoly.
