4J Studios Expands with New Office in Edinburgh, UK, Building on Momentum

The renowned developer of Minecraft's console version, 4J Studios, has inaugurated a new office in Edinburgh, Scotland, as part of its strategic expansion. According to The Scotsman, the Dundee-founded company, established in 2005 by Chris van der Kuyl and Paddy Burns, aims to tap into Edinburgh's thriving gaming sector by recruiting local talent. With approximately 50 employees, 4J Studios is currently developing Reforj, a community-driven project, in collaboration with its Pioneer Program participants. CEO Paddy Burns expressed his enthusiasm, stating that the Reforj development has gained significant traction over the past few months, making this an exciting period for the company. Burns added, 'The pioneer program is gaining momentum, and it's intriguing to witness players' experiences and incorporate their feedback into the game's development. By opening our first Edinburgh office, we aim to capitalize on this energy and leverage the city's diverse talent pool in software and design.'
