Steel City Interactive Expands with New Studio in Leamington Spa, UK
Steel City Interactive has established a new studio in Leamington Spa, UK, which will collaborate closely with its existing team in Sheffield, UK. Although the press release did not disclose whether the new studio will focus on existing or unannounced intellectual properties, Steel City is the independent developer behind the boxing game Undisputed, released in October 2024. The announcement of the new premises coincides with the appointment of five new members to Steel City's leadership team: Alison Beasley, head of marketing and communications, Sylvain Cornillon, head of technology, Nathan Fisher, head of art, Todd Matherne, head of QA, and Anna Lapworth, head of people and culture. They join the existing leadership team, comprising Tim Coupe, VP of studio, Clive Moody, VP of product development, Jason Darby, head of design, and Lydia Hawkins, finance director. According to Coupe, 'As we capitalize on the success of Undisputed and plan for the franchise's future, we required a secondary location that would attract senior talent and enhance our studio network, in addition to our Sheffield headquarters – Leamington Spa satisfies these conditions.' Steel City Interactive previously partnered with recruitment agency Amiqus in May to scale its technical and creative teams, and the Sheffield studio initiated a recruitment drive to support the future of its Undisputed franchise, which launched last October and has sold over one million copies.
