Sidekick Publishing Emerges as Instinct3's New Full-Service Publishing Arm

Instinct3, a Berlin-based creative agency, has unveiled Sidekick Publishing, a comprehensive publishing house catering to independent and AA game studios. Led by Instinct3's CEO, Jasmin Oestreicher, and publishing product lead, Melvin Frank, Sidekick Publishing seeks to bridge a gap in the competitive publishing sector by harnessing Instinct3's expertise in community engagement, creator-driven marketing, and authentic narrative crafting. The publisher's maiden title is Pixelsplit's zombie roguelike, Deadly Days: Roadtrip, slated for showcase at Gamescom 2025 and subsequent release later this year. Having previously published titles such as 9 Kings and TerrScape, Instinct3 initially intended to publish Deadly Days: Roadtrip, but Sidekick Publishing will now assume this role. According to Melvin Frank, now co-CEO and co-founder of Sidekick Publishing, 'Our past year has been marked by diverse releases, each imparting valuable lessons on resonance, connection, and longevity.' 'Sidekick represents our endeavor to distill these insights, merging them with our distinctive expertise in creator and community collaboration, and elevating our support for indie developers. Our objectives are straightforward: focus on games that align with our approach and strive to make each successive launch our most impressive yet.' Sidekick Publishing joins a slew of newly established publishers this year, including Lyrical Games, Six One Indie Publishing, The CoLab, and the revived Artex.
