Take-Two's Q1 2026 Net Bookings Surge to $1.42 Billion, Exceeding Guidance
Take-Two Interactive has announced its Q1 2026 financial results, revealing a significant 16% increase in net bookings to $1.42 billion, surpassing the predicted range of $1.25 billion to $1.3 billion. This substantial growth has prompted the company to revise its outlook for Q2, now expecting net bookings between $6.05 billion and $6.15 billion. The firm's impressive results can be attributed to the better-than-expected performance of several mobile titles, as well as the continued success of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto franchise. Key highlights for the quarter ending June 30, 2025, include net revenue of $1.5 billion, a 12% year-over-year increase, and a net loss of $12 million, significantly improved from the $262 million loss in the previous year. Total net bookings reached $1.42 billion, representing a 16% year-over-year increase. Take-Two experienced growth across several business segments, particularly Rockstar Games, which saw a surge in engagement following the release of Grand Theft Auto 6's second trailer. The trailer garnered over 475 million views and boosted engagement for GTA Online, resulting in higher-than-expected recurrent consumer spending growth and a 50% year-over-year increase in new player accounts. Recurrent consumer spending rose 17%, exceeding Take-Two's guidance of 7%, and accounted for 83% of the company's net bookings. 2K Games also saw significant growth, with NBA 2K25 selling over 11.5 million units to date and experiencing a 30% increase in daily active users, leading to a 48% rise in recurrent consumer spending. The mobile segment vastly exceeded expectations, driven by strong performances from titles such as Toon Blast, Match Factory, NBA 2K All-Star, and Color Block Jam. Rollic's Color Block Jam has become the studio's highest-grossing title, remaining at the top of the charts throughout the quarter, while 2K's WWE SuperCard reached over 37 million lifetime downloads. According to Take-Two chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick, 'Our outstanding first quarter results reflect ongoing demand for our core franchises and the increasingly diversified, successful nature of our business.' Looking ahead, the company expects recurrent consumer spending to grow approximately 4%, representing 76% of its net bookings, with a predicted breakdown of 45% from Zynga, 39% from 2K, and 16% from Rockstar Games. Take-Two is confident in its long-term pipeline, anticipating record levels of net bookings in fiscal 2027 and enhanced profitability.
