Supercell Introduces AI Innovation Lab Under Former Niantic Project Lead

Jessica Jung, formerly a project manager at Niantic, has taken the helm of Supercell's inaugural AI Innovation Lab in San Francisco, citing an irresistible offer. In a post on LinkedIn, Jung expressed her excitement about establishing the lab, driven by Supercell's eagerness to push the boundaries of AI and pioneer new entertainment categories. Jung noted that Supercell, having disrupted the gaming landscape over a decade ago with mobile gaming, is now well-positioned to innovate once again. Prior to joining Supercell, Jung was developing her own AI startup, focusing on interaction models and cognitive wellness, and had also worked on Niantic's AR virtual pet app. The new lab aims to empower developers with AI capabilities, enabling them to unleash their creativity and craft unprecedented interaction experiences. This development follows Supercell's recent acquisition of London-based studio Space Ape in November 2024.
