Roblox Introduces New 'Sensitive Issues' Content Label
Roblox has unveiled a new 'Sensitive Issues' content descriptor for experiences centered around sensitive social, political, or religious topics. This label is designed to provide parents with additional tools to control their child's experience on the platform, rather than taking a stance on the issues themselves. The new descriptor will be rolled out on August 11, after which experiences with this label will be inaccessible to users under 13 unless parents explicitly allow access. Roblox defines 'sensitive issues' as topics with polarized viewpoints and strong emotional responses, such as immigration, gun control, and reproductive rights. Creators will be required to fill out an additional question in the Maturity & Compliance Questionnaire to determine if their experience warrants the new descriptor. If an experience is primarily themed around a sensitive issue, it will receive the label and be restricted to users under 13 by default. However, experiences that only touch on these issues tangentially will not meet the criteria for the descriptor. The new label will not affect the existing content maturity label of any experiences, and Roblox encourages creators to update their questionnaires by September 29, 2025, if their experience includes any sensitive issues.
