Jonathan Holmes Steps Down as CEO of Milky Tea After Two Decades
Jonathan Holmes, co-founder of Milky Tea, has announced his immediate departure from the CEO role to prioritize family time and personal rejuvenation. Founded in 2005 in Liverpool, UK, the studio will see Chris Wood, the current general manager, assume the position of managing director. Wood previously served as COO at Pixelmatic. Holmes reflected on the journey, stating, "Establishing Milky Tea was a pivotal moment in my life. My co-founder, Ian Leyland, and I strived to create our ideal company, and I firmly believe we succeeded, thanks to our projects, awards, and the people we've worked with. However, after 20 years, I feel it's time to step back and focus on my family." He expressed his gratitude to Aonic's executive team for their support and trust in Milky Tea, and he's confident in handing over the leadership to Chris Wood, who brings extensive experience and leadership skills. Holmes extended his appreciation to everyone involved in Milky Tea's journey and looks forward to the studio's upcoming projects, including the release of Grit and Valor - 1949 on console and the Epic Games Store. Aonic acquired a majority stake in Milky Tea in 2023.
