Roblox Sees Substantial Expansion Across Key Performance Indicators, with Revenue Rising 21% Year-over-Year in Q2 FY25

Roblox has released its Q2 FY25 financial report, highlighting that the results surpassed initial expectations for top-line performance and cash flow, driven by the platform's overall strength and the emergence of highly popular experiences. The company notes significant growth in key areas, including daily active users, hours engaged, monthly unique payers, revenue, and bookings, which collectively demonstrate the platform's robust health and expanding user base. Revenue saw a 21% year-over-year increase, with bookings up by 51%. Monthly unique payers rose by 42% year-over-year, with an average booking of $20.48 per payer. Average daily active users also increased by 41% compared to the same period last year. According to David Baszucki, founder and CEO of Roblox, the Q2 2025 results showcase the platform's broad-based strength, fueled by strategic investments in infrastructure, performance, discovery, and the virtual economy, creating a thriving ecosystem for creators. Baszucki expressed encouragement by the momentum across Roblox, aiming to capture 10% of the global gaming content market. Key metrics for the three months ended June 2025 include revenue of $1.08 billion, up 21% year-on-year, and bookings of $1.44 billion, up 51% year-on-year, with net losses of $278.4 million. Average daily active users were 111.8 million, a 41% year-over-year increase, with hours engaged at 27.4 billion, up 58% year-over-year. The average monthly unique payers were 23.4 million, up 42% year-over-year, and the average bookings per monthly unique payer were $20.48. Roblox also reported that daily active users aged 13 and older grew 54% year-over-year, while hours engaged in this age group grew 72% year-over-year, now accounting for 64% of total daily active users and 66% of total hours. In markets outside the U.S. and Canada, daily active users grew 46% year-over-year, and bookings grew 63% year-over-year. However, certain infrastructure and trust and safety expenses increased to $152.6 million in Q2 2025, representing a 25% increase from Q2 2024 and a 14% increase from Q1 2025. Notably, Manuel Bronstein, Roblox's chief product officer, announced his resignation effective September 30, 2025, to pursue personal interests, and will remain as an advisor until April 13, 2026. Naveen Chopra, chief financial officer of Roblox, expressed excitement about joining the company during this dynamic period, highlighting the business's impressive scale and significant growth across key metrics, which demonstrates the platform's health and expanding reach.
