Third-Party Launch Titles for Switch 2: Winners and Losers Revealed

Recent data analysis by Newzoo has shed light on the top-performing third-party titles that launched alongside the Switch 2 on June 5. The analysis, which focused on digital sales in the US eShop for the month of June 2025, excluded physical game sales. According to the findings, the top third-party launch games by units sold were Deltarune, Hogwarts Legacy, and Fast Fusion, among others. Notably, Deltarune led the pack, followed closely by Hogwarts Legacy, which offered a $10 upgrade for players who had already purchased the game on the original Switch. At the lower end of the spectrum were Sonic X Shadow Generations and Survival Kids, with the latter being Unity's first developed game in two decades. Interestingly, while Cyberpunk 2077 ranked high in terms of revenue, it was outsold by Fast Fusion in terms of units. The revenue rankings saw Fortnite at the top, despite being a free-to-play game, followed by Deltarune and Cyberpunk 2077. The analysis concluded that the Switch 2 is attracting new and diverse audiences, with significant opportunities for third-party developers, particularly those creating well-optimized and innovative games.
