Silent Hill: Townfall Developer Undergoes Rebranding to Screen Burn

The Scottish game development studio, formerly known as No Code, has announced a significant transformation by adopting a new name: Screen Burn. Founded in Glasgow over a decade ago, the studio initially started as a small two-person team but has since grown and evolved. According to Jon McKellan, the Founder and Creative Director, the studio's new name reflects its shift towards a new era, emphasizing the distinctive qualities of their games, including the nostalgic feel of outdated technology and the lasting impression of a memorable story. The name Screen Burn draws inspiration from their current project, Silent Hill: Townfall, aiming to evoke the idea of an image etched into an old CRT screen and the lasting impact of a game on one's memory. The rebranding comes as the studio continues to work on Silent Hill: Townfall, a project announced by Konami in October 2022 alongside other Silent Hill titles. After a period of silence, concerns arose about the project's status, but co-publisher Annapurna Interactive reassured fans in October 2024 that the game is still in development, now under the studio's new name, Screen Burn.
