Introducing Roblox's Learning Hub in Partnership with BBC Bitesize

Roblox has unveiled its Learning Hub, a comprehensive platform offering a multitude of interactive educational experiences in a single destination. Launched to coincide with the summer break in the Northern Hemisphere, the hub allows students to engage in learning activities while enjoying their time off from school. The platform covers a broad spectrum of subjects catering to different age groups, including core academic disciplines like mathematics, English, and computer science, as well as essential life skills and knowledge of contemporary issues. A notable upcoming experience, Planet Planners, is being developed in collaboration with the BBC's Bitesize educational division. Geared towards 11-14 year olds, this experience focuses on addressing pressing global challenges such as natural disaster preparedness and urban management. The content will be aligned with national curricula in the UK and the US K-12 standards. According to Oonagh Jaquest, executive producer of BBC Bitesize at BBC Education, "Game-based learning is an effective way for students to engage with complex subjects while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills." The Roblox team has worked closely with BBC Bitesize to create an immersive experience that enables young learners to explore diverse global locations, witness the tangible outcomes of their decisions, and participate in group activities. The popular STEM-based game Sesame Street Mecha Builders, which has garnered over 70 million visits, is also accessible through the Learning Hub. Other experiences available include Domain Rangers, a marine biology adventure; Lua Learning, an introduction to the Lua programming language; Words of Power, an action role-playing game designed to enhance communication and vocabulary skills; and Google's Be Internet Awesome World, which provides online safety lessons.
