Tomb Raider Music Composer Sentenced to 16 Months in Prison for Covid Loan Scam

The composer behind the music for several Tomb Raider games, including The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and The Angel of Darkness, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for his involvement in a Covid Bounce Back Loan fraud scheme. Peter Connelly, the individual in question, provided false information about his company's financial performance to secure a £37,500 loan in 2020, just a month after receiving a legitimate £22,000 loan from a different bank. According to the UK's Insolvency Service, Connelly misrepresented his company's turnover as £150,000, when in reality it was around £58,000. As a result, Connelly has been disqualified from serving as a company director for six years and is currently repaying his debts through an Individual Voluntary Agreement. Interestingly, Connelly had previously been presented with an opportunity to reimagine his Tomb Raider music, a project he partially funded himself, but it was put on hold due to the pandemic. In addition to his work on Tomb Raider, Connelly has also contributed to the music for Herdy Gerdy and the audio design for The Crew and Watch Dogs.
