Netflix has given the green light to a live-action television series based on the popular Assassin's Creed franchise. The project, adapted by showrunners and executive producers Robert Patino and David Wiener, comes almost five years after the initial partnership between Ubisoft and Netflix to develop an Assassin's Creed show. Although details about the specific game, characters, or time period are scarce, the series is expected to revolve around the overarching conflict between the templars and assassins. According to Ubisoft, the live-action series will be a high-stakes thriller that explores the secret war between two mysterious factions vying for control and the preservation of free will. The show will delve into the lives of characters across significant historical events as they shape the course of human destiny. Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill from Ubisoft's Film & Television division will serve as executive producers. Showrunners Wiener and Patino emphasized that beneath the action and spectacle, the series will focus on the human story, exploring themes of purpose, identity, and faith.
