Live-Action The Legend of Zelda Film Unveils Casting Choices for Iconic Characters

The upcoming live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda has announced its casting for the roles of Zelda and Link, with Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth set to portray the beloved characters. The news was shared by Shigeru Miyamoto, the series' creator, on Nintendo's social media platforms, expressing his enthusiasm for seeing the actors bring the characters to life on the big screen. Directed by Wes Ball, known for his work on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the film is now scheduled for release on May 7, 2027, following a brief delay from its initial March 2027 release date. Accompanying the announcement was a photo of the two actors, which has been made available. Notably, Bragason has previously appeared in the BBC's The Jetty and Disney+'s Renegade Nell, while Ainsworth has featured in Netflix's The Haunting of Bly Manor and voiced Pinocchio in Disney+'s 2022 live-action remake. The film is being distributed by Sony Pictures, with Miyamoto and Avi Arad, known for his work on Spider-Man, serving as producers.
