Airship Interactive Enters Administration, Assets and Staff Transition to Airmergent
As of July 15, 2025, it has been confirmed that Airmergent has acquired the assets of Airship Interactive, marking a new chapter for the studio under a different entity. This strategic move is reportedly in response to broader industry challenges. All employees of Airship Interactive have been transferred to Airmergent, adhering to UK TUPE regulations, ensuring continuity in client contracts, payroll, and service delivery, as well as safeguarding staff livelihoods. Airmergent aims to build upon Airship Interactive's legacy by offering high-end art services, alongside expanded capabilities such as co-development, and a heightened focus on technical excellence. The transition has been funded by existing management, with the primary objective of maintaining business continuity and preserving the studio's creative heritage. The CEO expressed pride in the team's resilience and gratitude towards partners for their ongoing support. Initially, on July 14, 2025, it was reported that UK-based co-developer Airship Interactive had entered administration, appointing an administrator on July 1. The company, known for its art-focused services, had 78 employees as of January 2025. Following this development, the CEO and founder, Joe Harford, announced that the Airship Interactive brand would now operate under Airship, a specialist creative studio owned by Airmergent, with the leadership team and staff leading the new business. The move aims to serve the evolving games industry more efficiently. Airmergent Limited, incorporated in September 2024, has successfully acquired the business and assets of Airship Interactive Ltd. Founded in 2008, Airship Interactive has worked on notable projects including Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
