Acquire Corp and Red Dunes Games Join Forces to Develop New IPs

Red Dunes Games, a publisher and developer based in the United Arab Emirates, has entered into a multi-year partnership with Japan's Acquire Corp, the renowned studio behind the Tenchu and Way of the Samurai series. This collaboration aims to bring together Acquire's craftsmanship and Red Dunes' bold, globally-oriented creative vision to develop original intellectual properties. The initial projects include Project Tremor, featuring epic kaiju battles, Project Umbra, a dark fantasy 'hunts' game, and Project Shadowcar, a spy thriller. These titles are slated for global release on PC and console, with premieres planned at major events like the Tokyo Game Show. Acquire Corp, recently behind the RPG Mario & Luigi: Brothership for Nintendo Switch, was acquired by Kadokawa Corporation, the owner of FromSoftware, in 2024. Red Dunes Games, unveiled in September 2024, is set to launch its first titles, including the puzzle adventure Princess of the Water Lilies and the Metroidvania game Zozo and the Lost Dreams. According to Red Dunes Games' CEO and creative director, Sultan Darmaki, 'Acquire is a legendary studio with a profound creative legacy, and we are honored to collaborate with them in building the next generation of original games.' He further emphasized the partnership as a testament to the belief that the future of gaming lies in global collaboration and innovation without borders. Similarly, Acquire Corp's CEO, Takuma Endo, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, 'As a studio that has long valued originality in game development, we are thrilled to have found a wonderful partner in Red Dunes Games and embark on a bold new global challenge together, building something truly international.'
