Nintendo Announces End of Switch Game Voucher Program

The Switch Game Voucher service will be discontinued by Nintendo. As of January 30, 2026, at 11:59pm, it will no longer be possible to buy new vouchers. The vouchers, a benefit of Nintendo Switch Online membership, allowed subscribers to purchase two vouchers at a time, redeemable for select eShop games at a discounted price. Although Nintendo did not provide a reason for ending the program, the company expressed gratitude to participants and reminded them that unused vouchers are valid for 12 months after purchase. Consequently, vouchers bought on January 30, 2026, will remain valid until January 30, 2027. While vouchers will not be available for Switch 2 games, Nintendo will continue to add Switch titles to the voucher catalog throughout 2026.
