Ubisoft Confirms Red Storm Layoffs Affecting 19 Employees

Ubisoft has confirmed that it is implementing layoffs at Red Storm, the studio behind Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, with 19 employees being let go. According to reports from IGN, these cuts are a result of the company's ongoing efforts to restructure and reduce costs globally. In a statement, the developer expressed that while the decision was difficult, it was necessary due to operational priorities. Ubisoft has committed to providing comprehensive support to affected employees, including severance packages, extended healthcare benefits, and career transition assistance. The company acknowledged the significant contributions of the departing employees and expressed gratitude for their hard work. It was also clarified that no other Ubisoft locations were impacted by these redundancies. Red Storm, founded in 1996 by Tom Clancy and Doug Littlejohns, originally operated as Red Storm Entertainment before being acquired by Ubisoft in 2000. This is not the first time Red Storm has faced redundancies, as it was also affected in August 2024, alongside Ubisoft's San Francisco studio.
